How does it work?
TimeBank will recruit and train volunteers as mentors to support up to 65 refugees to stay in employment for a minimum of six months.
After attending a volunteer training session led by TimeBank staff, volunteers will be matched with a refugee to begin their mentoring relationship and the pair will meet for around five hours each month, for a period of six months. Meetings will usually take place outside working hours.
Mentors will provide practical support on issues such as working with a variety of different colleagues, balancing work and family life and effectively coping with any difficulties that may arise.
Due to high volumes of interest in the RISE project we are not taking any more volunteer mentor applications at the moment. We would love to have you on board with the project however so please do check the website in the New Year (2018) when we are hoping to reopen the application process.
If you’d like any more information about the project, please contact Ella, the Project Co-ordinator, on 0203 111 0730 or email email@example.com.
